Our Beliefs

First Baptist Church of Mountain Home, AR is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Our Senior Pastor and Associate Pastors are always available to answer any questions you might have about these statements. This outline of our fundamental beliefs guides our church by helping to align us with instructions in God’s Word, the Bible.

We believe in one God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God.

God

Revelation

God has made Himself known to the world in Jesus Christ, the Scriptures, and creation.

We believe that God created the world from nothing and governs all things at all times in all places.

Creation & Providence

We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.

Humanity

We believe that sin has been passed down from Adam to all peoples and fractured all things leaving the world in desperate need for salvation: redemption, reconciliation, and restoration.

Sin

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God, to declare the Gospel of Jesus, and observe believers baptism and the Lord’s Supper until He returns.

Church

We believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the world at some point in the future to judge the living and the dead and commune forever and ever with the entire Body of Christ together to enjoy the very presence of God and fellowship of believers.
